I. Specifications for use
Place the tube with the material in the metal sleeve of the centrifuge, if necessary with a layer of cotton at the bottom of the tube, and weigh it on a balance, adjusting the amount of material in the tube so that the weight of the two tubes with their sleeves is equal. If only one tube of material is available, it can be balanced by holding water in the opposite tube.
Place the centrifuge tubes and their sleeves in a symmetrical position in the moving tray of the centrifuge and place the cap in place.
● Turn on the power and slowly move the pointer of the speed regulator to the required speed scale and maintain it for a certain time (approx. 5 minutes).
● After a certain time has elapsed, slowly turn the pointer of the speed regulator to zero and close the electric door.
● Wait for the moving disc to stop turning automatically before removing the centrifuge cover and removing the centrifuge tube. Be careful when removing the tube so that any material that has settled does not rise and become cloudy as a result of the shock.
When using the centrifuge, if you find that the centrifuge is vibrating and there is a noise, this indicates an internal weight imbalance. If you find a metallic sound, this often indicates a rupture of the internal test tubes.
If a metallic sound is detected, this often indicates a rupture of the tubes inside.
II. Maintenance and care
The centrifuge should be placed on a stable table to prevent it from sliding or vibrating and causing accidents.
● When starting the centrifuge, it should be accelerated gradually. When abnormal sounds are detected, stop the machine for inspection and exclude faults (e.g. asymmetrical centrifuge tubes, unequal quality, unlevel centrifuge position or loose screw caps) before working.
● Centrifuge tubes should be placed symmetrically. If the tubes are asymmetrical in odd numbers, add another empty tube into the same mass of water and adjust to make them symmetrical in mass.
The casing of the centrifuge should be kept clean and the bottom of the casing should be padded with soft material such as foam to avoid breaking of the centrifuge tubes.
● Close the centrifuge by gradually decelerating it until it stops automatically, do not use forced methods to make it stop.
● The centrifuge should be covered to ensure safety when in operation.
● The wear of the rectifier and brushes should be checked regularly (about one year) and any excessive wear should be replaced immediately.
● The bearings of the motor should be regularly lubricated with oil (e.g. Vaseline).
● Monthly maintenance checks should be carried out and an instrument maintenance record completed.
III. Cleaning and handling
● After each use, immediately clean and hang the sign and fill in the record of instrument use.
● Wipe the surface of the case with a fine soft cloth and visually check that no cleaning agent remains.
● Evaluation of the effect: The internal and external surfaces of the apparatus should be bright and tidy, without stains.
