Causes Of Abnormal Heat Dissipation Of Desktop Centrifuge And Sealing Treatment
A benchtop centrifuge is a machine that uses centrifugal force to separate liquids from solid particles or components of a liquid-liquid mixture. Centrifuges are primarily used to separate solid particles from liquids in suspensions, or to separate two immiscible liquids of different densities in an emulsion. They can also be used to remove liquid from wet solids, such as when washing wet clothes. Specialized ultra-fast tubular separators can also separate gas mixtures of varying densities. Some benchtop centrifuges can also classify solid particles by density or size, taking advantage of the different settling rates of solid particles of varying density or size in liquids.

Normal desktop centrifuges have very good heat dissipation, but in actual use, some desktop centrifuges have abnormal heat dissipation.

1. The main reasons are as follows:

(1) The reason for frequent heat dissipation is that the fan of the desktop centrifuge is blocked by cotton cloth, etc. The heat cannot be dissipated normally. Action: Please check the fan port.

(2) The fan is broken and the desktop centrifuge does not rotate. Check: Put your hand into the fan port to feel whether there is fan coming out. If there is no wind, please check whether the fan power cord is normal or replace the fan.

(3) The power setting of the desktop centrifuge is too high, far exceeding the actual power, and the excess power will be lost and converted into heat energy. Action: Set the centrifuge parameters.

(4) There is a problem with the setting or starting device of the desktop centrifuge. The energy conversion rate of the centrifuge is relatively low when it starts. If the centrifuge is set too fast or there is a problem with the starting device, the power is too high but the energy conversion rate is low, which can easily cause the centrifuge to overheat. Overheating of centrifuge components will greatly shorten the service life of the centrifuge components. Therefore, the cause of the centrifuge failure should be found and handled in time. Or contact the centrifuge manufacturer to troubleshoot.

(5) When the desktop centrifuge is overloaded, the current increases, the rated power is greater than the actual power, and the excess is converted into heat dissipation, causing the centrifuge components to overheat.

2. Three methods of sealing treatment for desktop centrifuges are as follows:

(1) Sealing of the machine cover

Since the cover can be flipped, reliable sealing measures should be taken at the joint surface with the sleeve. If the sealing structure or material fails to prevent corrosion, it may cause liquid and gas phase leakage, causing harm to the environment and personnel. When designing and selecting a desktop centrifuge, the sealing performance and reliability of the sealing groove structure and the sealing strip should be fully considered. The installation interfaces of additional devices such as the feed pipe, flushing pipe, and observation mirror should also take reliable sealing measures.

(2) Sealing of the bearing position

For the sealing of the spindle nut and the bearing position, the sealing measures of previous traditional models in this regard are relatively simple and can only achieve relative sealing. For example, there is usually no sealing ring at the spindle nut position and the joint surface between the spindle nut and the roller. During the operation of the desktop centrifuge, the liquid and gas phases penetrate, corrode the spindle cone, and even penetrate into the bearing, causing bearing damage, thereby affecting the normal use of the machine. Generally, the upper bearing cover has a skeleton sealing structure, but the part between the upper bearing cover and the drum cone hole is exposed. The gas phase in the centrifuge chamber may corrode the exposed surface of the main shaft. The materials separated by centrifuges in the pharmaceutical industry are mostly organic solvents or media such as acids, alkalis, and salts. Therefore, when ordering equipment, the sealing requirements of these components should be fully considered, and dynamic or static sealing structures should be set to meet the sealing requirements.

(3) Sealing of the working area of the transmission belt The transmission belt of the desktop centrifuge is open, and only a protective cover is set at the motor end. However, the environmental pollution caused by friction dust is not controlled, and it is not feasible to use it in a clean area. Therefore, it is necessary to seal the working area of the transmission belt to prevent friction dust from leaking.
